Under supervisory direction from the Recreation Services Supervisor, performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks in maintenance, and servicing of city ball fields and/or parks.
Is responsible for the coordinating and physical facilities upkeep at all city operated ball-fields, as well as other duties as required.

TASKS:
Primary responsibilities involve task assignments relating to daily ball field preparation of infield facilities for eight ball fields and throughout some city facilities.
The position involves a moderate degree of physical stamina, performing independent work related to athletic infield/field maintenance preparations, and turf/tree management.
The position requires some interdepartmental contact with specific knowledge of infield maintenance management and recreation/sports program management.
The position is also responsible for conducting safety/risk management inspections and surveys of each field facility.
Performs grounds maintenance work including landscape maintenance, pruning/trimming of trees/shrubs on a seasonal basis during winter months.
On-site daily field preparations for all adult/youth sports leagues, tournament programs and operations.
Prepares daily/weekly, up to eight fields encompassing task assignments in field lining, harrowing, dragging via quad wheeled vehicle all skinned areas of each infield facility, raking out rocks and all infield areas plus base paths and warning tracks; implements monthly edging with gas powered edger; and repairs base paths and implements general field clean-up.
Oversees the use, care, and preventative maintenance of all machinery and equipment utilized within proper parameters as set fourth by the supervisor.
Initiates weekly public safety/health inspections and provides reports to the supervisor.
Implements proper on-the-job safety observance, applies safe working practices/techniques, observes proper equipment use.
Performs special assignments on weekends during tournament programs.
Provides for off-season field maintenance related to infield maintenance requirements.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
